  • New UpgradeOn the Map V6 - off site link- The LED partnership is happy to announce the release of OnTheMap Version 6.0 web application. This version includes a number of exciting new features to allow users to dig deeper into the data. This version also includes improvements to the user experience without changing any pieces that already worked well in Version 5. As such, Version 6 should be very familiar to those of you who have worked extensively with Version 5. One of the key improvements can be considered "under the hood" as the OnTheMap development team re-engineered the application and moved it to a higher capacity operating environment. This was done to address performance issues noted in Version 5 (i.e., time for conducting an analysis and number of simultaneous interactions with the application). Other notable enhancements in Version 6 are as follows:
    1. New charting and mapping capabilities have been added. Within the results, users can now control the map, chart, and report outputs to show single characteristics/segments.
    2. 2010 geography. For the first time, OnTheMap is presenting all of its data in the new geography base (census blocks and tracts) defined for the 2010 Decennial Census. Detailed information about the new 2010 geography can be found in "A Note About Updating OnTheMap Geography".
    3. Data for New Hampshire from 2002-2009 has been added to the database.
    4. The gender variable is now available as a characteristic (in Area Profile and Area Comparison) for 2009.
It should be noted that data for 2010 has not been released yet. This data is going through final Census approvals and should be available soon.
  • OnTheMap for Emergency Management - off site link. Shows Fire Perimeters and a report can be generated for employment in the selected area.
